WHO ARE WE Northfield is an introductory and early skills development Club, which provides a series of carefully graded skill learning and football activities. By placing emphasis on achievement and success, the program ensures that children learn the skills of the game of Football whilst having fun doing so. Since our inception in 1990, Northfield's numbers have grown phenomenally. Originally known as Firwood JFC, we began with just two teams and 24 budding young footballers. In 1994 we became Northfield JFC. Our size has steadily increased to where it is today - around 110 children! The majority are drawn from Sefton, Orrell and Aintree, although we do draw players from Kirkby and other surrounding areas. With our home at the Orrell Park, Liverpool (800m form Orrell Park train station), our aim is to introduce and teach children, aged 7 17 the basic skills of Football, in a relaxed, fun and non-competitive atmosphere - we believe in: "The PRESSURE of footy never takes over from the PLEASURE of footy". FACILITIES Northfield currently utilises 2 quality pitches at Kingfield, and changing room facilities are provided via modified steel containers . All of the upkeep of Kingfield is the total responsibility of the Club including ; security, pitch maintenance etc. THE FUTURE As part of its community responsibility the club will add new teams as and when opportunities arise, together with suitable Management Team candidates . Currently the club has plans to improve the changing room facilities, to include running water and basic toilet amenities . A Grant application is currently under review by FOUNDATION FOR SPORTS & ARTS . | |||||||||||||||||||||||
